7th Heaven
James Patterson & Maxine Paetro
Little, Brown and Company

James Patterson and Maxine Paetro are back with the newest installment of the Women’s Murder Club.  In 7th Heaven we find our favorite foursome trying to solve two cases at the same time.

In the first case the son of the former governor of California is missing.  Lindsay Boxer and her partner Rich Conklin handle the investigation which results in the murder trial prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Yuki Castellano.  The fact that there is no body and the few witnesses are shaky at best makes the high profile case a pressure cooker for Yuki.  While working on the murder investigation Lindsay and Rich also catch the case of a serial arsonist, who ties his victims up and leaves them to perish in their ultra extravagant homes.  When Lindsay’s apartment catches fire she gets spooked and suddenly everyone, even old friends, becomes a suspect.  Throw in a love triangle for Lindsay and a journalist stalking Yuki and you have enough action to make 7th Heaven impossible to put down.

7th Heaven is a page turner in typical Patterson fashion.  It has more twists and turns than an Olympic bobsled run.  The hardest challenge in reading this book is resisting the temptation to skip to the end before it is time.  I urge you to resist.  The wait will be well worth it.
