Easy Rawlins is a man that fans of author Walter Mosley are familiar with and we see his return in his latest and tenth novel entitled Blonde Faith. This book was my first “Easy” experience and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Blonde Faith is set in 1967 and begins with a bang when Easy comes home from work and finds his friend Christmas Black has left his daughter at his house and this raises suspicions as Black is obviously concerned for the safety of his daughter. Easy’s friend Mouse is MIA and his wife tells him he is wanted for murder. To add insult to injury Easy’s longtime girlfriend, Bonnie, plans to marry another man which cuts him straight through the heart leaving him searching for love and something to fill the void in his life that she once occupied. And if this isn’t enough Rawlins is hired to find the man/men who supposedly killed a man who was a husband and father of twelve children. As each event unfolds Easy is thrust into a world of murder, deceit and conspiracy.
Blonde Faith grabbed me from the beginning until the exciting and surprising conclusion. Blonde Faith is a great suspense novel that has sparked an interest in checking out some of the previous Easy Rawlins novels. Overall this is a great book and should be enjoyed by fans of mystery/thriller books.
