Bygones is a sweet story of a woman (Marie) who has been shunned by the Mennonite community and family she had known all her life when she chose to marry outside the faith. An old flame finds her to tell her of an inheritance available to her daughter, Beth, by an aunt who made a condition of her will that she must live in the community for three months before it is hers. Planning to sell the estate to finance a business Beth decides to live in the community for the prescribed time–Marie decides to return with her to help her manage in the strange environment.
Thus begins the story of rebuilding and renewing relationships and beliefs. It is a story of memories and family and the importance of God and family in shaping values and direction in life. There is some intrigue, some suspense, and some hope neatly interwoven into this delightful tale.
