Alex Cross is back in the 13th installment of this popular series.  In Double Cross we find Alex Cross working in the private sector as a psychiatrist.  When his beautiful new girlfriend Detective Brianna Stone, catches the case of the murders of the Audience Killer, Dr. Cross can’t help but get involved.  When his diabolical nemesis Kyle Craig escapes from the super maximum-security prison in Colorado, the plot thickens.  Is the Audience Killer joining forces with Craig or is Craig just manipulating the Audience Killer from behind the scenes?  Either way, Dr. Cross can’t help but get involved.  The only question is who will win this murderous game, who will lose, and who will live to play another day? 

Double Cross is vintage Patterson.  It is fast moving and suspenseful and takes the occasional surprise twist.  Double Cross uses the equation of our favorite hero Alex Cross against our favorite villain Kyle Craig with both having strong supporting casts.  Life for a Patterson fans doesn’t get much better than this.
