tThis season, of what lasted four in all, ran in 1997 to 1998 and rendered another 22 episodes. The series as a whole ran from 1996 to 2000 when it was cancelled despite a huge following from abdicates of family friendly TV. This series was nominated for two Primetime Emmys as well as a couple other awards. Gary Hobson (Kyle Chandler) and his cohorts Chuck Fishman (Fisher Stevens) and Marrisa Clark (Shanesia Davis-Williams) are back again to help out in the streets of Chicago to make changes in the everyday lives of its citizens.
A seemingly normal Chicago resident, Gary gets the newspaper like everyone else delivered to him, but the difference come in what day the paper is from, always tomorrows. Oh yeah, the paper is delivered by this orange cat who guides Gary to the stories that need to be fixed. With the knowledge of what will happen tomorrow, Gary is perplexed to do something about it at any cost. His two friends help Gary out where and when they can and lending their skills as possible. Some of the news that Gary changes seems to be clear cut and simple, but there always seems to be more to the story than is apparent. Thusly, Gary is set to be a super hero of sorts and always makes it on time.
The extras are really nonexistent unless you count the promos for the upcoming episode. They can be useful though to preview what each episode deals with and skip any that seem less interesting. You can however watch the episode cold or watch it with the promo included to give the feel of suspense of how it all will work out.
I found the series to be catchy in its simplistic premise and moral judgment is always a hot topic. The thought of an everyday person out saving us all from tragedy is a good thought, but on a daily or weekly basis would drain the best of us at some point. I do have a small problem with the way everything is wrapped up so nice and neat at the end of each episode and that Gary always knows just what to say, and with that said, even the best super hero’s have a bad day or things go badly. Some of the writing was horrible and cheesy in my opinion. If you are more into family friendly TV shows, this is down your ally.
