Let Me In is Fight the Quiet’s third release and contains six rock songs that pack a heckuva melodic punch. Chosen from a batch of nearly 40 songs, Let Me In is a great example of a band choosing to put out their best work instead of everything that pops into their head (I’m looking at you Prince).
Fight the Quiet reminds me a lot of Foo Fighters if they had an emo style singer and stuck to only their poppier material. In fact the vocalist sounds like a cross between a singer in any (and every) emo band and every (and any) modern Christian worship band. The title track is exceptionally catchy. You can’t help but bob your head and attempt to sing along on the first time through. Subsequent listens reveal it to be even better than your initial impression. “Sway” is probably the highlight for me as it has a rawer, rockier edge that I really dig. The singer even gets a little gruffer on this one enabling him to really explode when the time is right. Really all the songs on Let Me In are pretty excellent. It’s a diverse (but not crazy diverse), dynamic, and extremely catchy batch of songs.
Fight the Quiet have plenty of great things going for them and I’ll be surprised if we don’t see them on a major label sometime soon given the fact that they are better than almost any major label rock band out there now. If you like great commercial rock and roll that doesn’t sound like Creed and Nickelback than you should definitely check out Fight the Quiet’s Let Me In.
