T.V. Sets: Forever Funny is a compilation DVD that contains seven of the inaugural episodes of some of Television’s most popular comedy series. Debut episodes of I Love Lucy, The Odd Couple, The Honeymooners, Taxi, The Brady Bunch, Frasier, and Cheers are all included here. The set retails for just a little over ten dollars, a more than reasonable price for some of the best written shows ever to be on film.
Overall this is a spectacular collection for the price. It’s a great reminder of a better time for T.V. viewers and an interesting look at these classic series first impressions. Honestly, Frasier, Cheers, and Taxi have trouble finding their feet (although they would obviously end up as legendary shows) and their first episodes aren’t all that funny. On the other hand, I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, The Odd Couple, and The Brady Bunch absolutely hit it out of the park right from the moment of creation. These shows stand the test of time and this collection serves as a great, and proper, introduction to each series.
