Horror fiction has a new name and it is Travis Thrasher!  Not only does he have a super cool name for a writer, Thrasher knows how to scare the bejeebies out of you.  Up until recently Mr. Thrasher has authored at more than 10 books in the Christian book industry ranging from love stories to suspense novels.  His latest novel, GHOSTWRITER definitely falls into the suspense/horror bracket and has become one of the best books I have read so far this year.  With GHOSTWRITER Thrasher has surpassed similar best selling authors Frank Peretti and Ted DeKker by far.  Thrasher has a talent in writing about the supernatural and portraying it in ways that kept me glued to the pages and checking my locks on the doors before heading to bed.

Dennis Shore is a best selling horror fiction author who writes novels that have enamored his fans for years.  After losing his wife to cancer Dennis not only is having a difficult dealing with her death but is also experiencing writer’s block.  Shortly after his wife’s passing Dennis came across a story that was sent to him by an adoring fan and thought the best cure for his writer’s block would be to just put his name on unsolicited manuscript he received.  After receiving some of his best reviews ever Dennis thinks he is free and clear until one day a young man approaches him at a book signing and claims to be the author of the book he stole.  Cillian Reed is the author and he is not happy with Shore.  After receiving some minor threats and harassment from Reed Shore soon finds that he is not dealing with a normal psychotic fan; he is facing someone who is far more dangerous than that.  In his attempts to make things right Shore quickly finds himself on the verge of losing his career, his daughter and ultimately his sanity.

GHOST WRITER is a fantastic novel that had me in its grip from the opening pages to its suspenseful conclusion.  In Thrasher’s previous novel ISOLATION I thought there were some annoying clichés and found it somewhat predictable but that is not the case with his latest novel.  Overall, GHOSTWRITER is a well written and spooky novel that will definitely keep you up at night and make you wonder if someone or something is watching you.
