What are you willing to do for $1,000,000? That is the question posed in this 1993 rerelease on Blu-ray. This film was based on a novel written by Jack Engilhard. The concept of the film was originally conceived to star Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. However with such a cast of Robert Redford, Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson seemed to be a better fit as I see it.

David (Woody) and Diana (Demi) met while still in school. They elope and set their hearts and dreams high and are well on their way to a comfortable life together. While working as a realtor, Diana finds the perfect piece of land, for then architect David, to build their dream home. Not too far after David starts to build this grand home, a recession hits which causes him to lose his job and the same fate lie with Diana. After some long nights trying to resolve the situation, David decides to borrow some money from his dad and they head for Vegas to attempt to win big. A chance meeting in a hotel store, Diana meets Billionaire John Cage. She brushes him off and doesn’t give him much thought. Later David and Diana lose all they have on a bad bet, but then see John playing in a high roller game. John seeks the luck that seems to be brought with Diana, and then when he wins big, He treats the couple to a fancy hotel room. And then it happens, When they are invited to a party hosted by John, the million dollar question is asked. Would you accept $1 million for one night with your wife? From there, the moral playground begins.

Well I was expecting a rash of extras to be included with this DVD, but was left flat with only the Director Commentary to suffice. I found it dreary and a bit on the boring side.

Oh boy, the Blu-ray was set to be a great enhancement with all the romance and nudity and delivered well enough. Demi was amazing. I have only one complaint about the film quality, and I’m not sure if it was just the copy I reviewed, but in a couple of scenes the picture was very spotty and a distraction.

The story holds up well but I guess that the film is not that old and there were very little references that time the piece. I did find errors in the film and for those of you who like to find them, happy hunting, there are plenty. I think Mr. Redford was a bit on the creepy side, Woody was perfect for his role and this is one of Demi’s better roles. This is a splendid story with a real moral dilemma.
