The Jonas Brothers are quite the unstoppable act at the moment. Hit albums, sold out tours, a 3D movie, and a hot new TV show have cemented these lads in Pop culture history. They may even be more popular than New Kids on the Block or the original Menudo (NKOTB never did get their own TV show, did they?). Hot of the success of both their concert film and their newly launched TV show, comes the release of their 3D Concert Experience for home viewing. That’s right…Jonas Brothers…3D….Your living room.
The disc contains nearly an hour and a half of 3 D concert experience from the Jonas Brothers featuring their hit singles "Burning Up", "S.O.S." and "That's The Way We Roll." Joe, Kevin and Nick deliver a high energy show in front of thousands of screaming tweenage girls and for the most part deliver a performance that is enjoyable and easy on the ears. There are also "surprise" performances by Disney's Camp Rock Demi Lovato singing "This is Me" and another performance by Taylor Swift as she sings her hit single "Should've Said No". Intersperced throughout the DVD are "candid" videos of the brothers as they watch the mob of screaming fans outside their hotel room, take a trip to the Virgin store in NYC to purchase their new CD and footage of fans camping out to see the band perform for Good Morning America.
The bonus feautures are also a plus with the "Up Close and Personal: Inside the Lives of the Jonas Brothers On Tour" takes the viewer on an adventure in the day of the life of the Jonas Brothers. Another great addition to this disc are the two bonus songs "Love Bug" and "Shelf".
This set comes with a copy of the BluRay (which contains two additional songs, scenes edited back into the movie that were not shown in theaters, and a look inside the lives of the stars, in addition to being 3D- four pairs of 3D glasses are included), a DVD of the concert in 2D (plus all the bonus features), a Digital Copy for the family on the go.
Overall this collection is great for the price if there is a Disney Channel lover in your home. For being a kids Pop band, the Jonas Brothers actually manage to “bring it” pretty well, but don’t tell anyone I said that okay? The 3D experience angle isn’t’ as impressive as it sounds unless you have a very expensive home theater system but, hey, its cool to put the glasses on and watch anyway!
