NYC Native Arthur Lynn has been the man and voice behind underground band ANGIESCREAMS! As a reviewer I have been following Arthur’s career and he is in my estimation a musical genius! For years I have been waiting for some record label to pick up his musical masterpieces but for one reason or another he is still awaiting the big break he deserves. Well, my friends I think his day is near with his latest musical collaboration Maximillian Is King. Arthur has teamed up with vocalist Nick Fowler and this is a match made in heaven! I recently received their EP and I LOVE IT!
This EP is made up of several songs from the AngieScreams! era and has been updated with new vocals (Fowler) and crisper production. Opening the CD is probably my favorite song on the CD entitled “Someday You’ll Be a Star”. I have heard this song evolve over the years and I personally think Lynn and Fowler have turned this into the song it was supposed to be. The E.P. contains five songs altogether including the aforementioned, “Don’t Walk Away (Raise Your Hands)”, “Strange Like Me”, “Dizzy” and “Stronger”.
Recently Maximillian is King’s “Someday You’ll Be a Star” has been receiving a lot of airplay on NYC’s 101.9 RXP and also a cover of Billy Squier’s “She’s a Runner” (Which is not on the E.P. unfortunately). I encourage you to check out the bands website at the above location and you can listen to the full E.P. online and drop the band some props for an excellent release that I pray to God some record executive will hear and get behind because this could be a huge release.
