E1 ENTERTAINMENT AND THE LEGENDARY KISS SEAL DEAL

Los Angeles, CA and Toronto, ON – March 9, 2010 – Leading independent studio, E1 Entertainment is thrilled to finalize their production and development deal with legendary rock band KISS. E1 will tap the worldwide enthusiasm for the KISS brand, collaborating with founding members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley to create a comedic half-hour kids television series that galvanizes the band’s iconic personas for its young fans.

“We’re honored to be involved in carrying on the KISS legacy,” comments Frank Saperstein, Senior VP of Kids and Animation for E1.  “It’s wonderful to collaborate with the creative forces behind one of the greatest rock bands of all time and unquestionably one of the most recognized worldwide.”

E1 has snagged the KISS brand as it eclipses its roots, building energy in new family and youth media outlets. KISS’s role as the face of Dr. Pepper, their significant presence during Super Bowl XLIV, and their appearance on the 2009 American Idol Finale, which reached over thirty million viewers, has made the make-up and leather-clad giants a household name for kids and families today. The KISS tradition continues to grow generation after generation transcending age, race and creed.

"KISS continues to be the juggernaut of licensing and merchandising, from KISS M&M's to KISS Dr Pepper,” remarks KISS co-founder Gene Simmons, “KISS is a band, but also the only music BRAND. Continuing in our 35 year history of going where no band has gone before, we are proud to partner with E1.  Like all things KISS, we intend to make this a very special show for our fans."

“We couldn’t be more excited. Coupling E1’s successes and ingenuity with the global force of KISS guarantees an express pass into the homes of our youngest KISS Army members with a show of superior quality,“ adds KISS co-founder Paul Stanley.

The as- yet untitled series will be produced and distributed worldwide by E1.  Executive Producers are John Morayniss and Frank Saperstein for E1 Entertainment; Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS. E1 and KISS will handle all licensing and merchandise for the series.

Jeff Healey and the Jazz Wizards Concert DVD, "Beautiful Noise",
To Be Released On March 23, 2010
New Studio Album "Last Call" Due April 6, 2010

EDMONTON, AB - Stony Plain Records announces an April 6 release date in the U.S. and Canada for Jeff Healey's final jazz  studio album, Last Call, which showcases the beloved legendary musician performing the music that was his true passion in life: the classic jazz, swing and pop sounds of the 1920s-1940s.

Released with the participation and support of Jeff Healey's widow, Cristie, Last Call is a 14-track collection on which Healey plays multi-tracked guitar parts, trumpet and sings. On several of the songs, he's accompanied by Ross Wooldridge on piano and clarinet and Drew Jurecka on violin.

Concurrent with this CD in Canada, Stony Plain will also release, Beautiful Noise, a concert DVD featuring Jeff Healey and The Jazz Wizards, his regular jazz performance band, originally recorded for the Toronto-based TV show, "A Beautiful Noise," in January, 2006. In the U.S., the Beautiful Noise DVDwill be released on March 23 and distributed by MVD Entertainment Group.

Last Call was Jeff's last jazz/swing recording before his death in March, 2008 of cancer. Mess of Blues, an album of his fan-favorite blues and roots songs released shortly after he passed away, won the Blues Award for "Best Rock/Blues Release" in 2009; and the Songs from the Road live CD,released in September of 2009, won the "Recording of the Year" at the 2010 Maple Blues Awards.

Last Call was recorded and mixed by long-time Healey friend and bandmate, Alec Fraser, and the package includes extensive liner notes by Colin Bray. The album features swing guitar instrumentals first recorded by Lonnie Johnson, Eddie Lang and Joe Venuti, to interpretations of songs originally done by Fats Waller, Sidney Bechet and Hoagy Carmichael. The material ranges from such standards as "Deep Purple," "Pennies from Heaven" and "Autumn in New York," to more obscure songs from the past, including "I'm Holding My Honey's Hand" and "You Can't Pull the Wool Over My Eyes."

Jeff Healey even covers some tunes originally heard during the golden age of cinema, including "Hong Kong Blues" and the haunting them from the motion picture, "Laura."

The new CD also includes a bonus video of "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter" that is playable on most computers, recorded live at Healey's Roadhouse in Toronto on July 21, 2007.

The Beautiful Noise concert DVD features 11 tracks with the Jazz Wizards complete six-piece lineup, none of which are included on Last Call, plus an additional interview and musical footage. Beautiful Noise was directed by Daniel K. Berman and produced by Daniel K. Berman and Paul McNulty.

THE POSTMAN SYNDROME To Release Lost Demos; Ask For Fan Preorder Support

On May 22nd, EAST OF THE WALL will be independently releasing the demos for what would have been THE POSTMAN SYNDROME's second album. The band - of which four out of five members went on to EAST OF THE WALL -  released their debut LP Terraforming, on Now Or Never Records in 2002. A second album was planned but never recorded due to the label shutting down in 2004.

All of the material that would comprise the record was demoed in the band's rehearsal space, but without funding none of it was ever professionally recorded. After a few lineup changes THE POSTMAN SYNDROME eventually surfaced as EAST OF THE WALL, released a full-length, Farmer's Almanac, via Forgotten Empire Records, and recently announced their sophomore album Ressentiment, which will be released this July via Translation Loss. Yet the band always regretted constant limbo of the final POSTMAN SYNDROME material.

Now, five years after the intended release date, THE POSTMAN SYNDROME's demos have been reworked, remixed, and will finally be pressed to disc. Titled God Relieve Our Grief: A Mausoleum Of Stillborn Demos, it comprises ten songs recorded in various sessions between 2003 - 2005. The tentative tracklist is as follows.

01. "Gut"
02. "Heads Below Or Tails"
03. "Water Signs"
04. "The Order Of Levin" (new drums, remix)
05. "Be Fruitless and Vanish" (new drums, remix)
06. "Sent" (aka untitled song #3)
07. "Pedovile" (remix)
08. "Beards Mahoney" (remix)
09. "It's A Burden, I Know" (new drums, guitars, vocals, remix)
10. "The Consequence Of Cowardice" (new recording, new guest vocals by members of Fake Gimms)

Since EAST OF THE WALL is releasing the disc independently they're asking for fan support in the form of preorders to cover the cost of the pressing. Each preorder comes with a bonus disc, a bonus DVD, a shirt, and more. Preorders are being taken now at: http://www.postmansyndrome.com.
