What more can one say about James Patterson that hasn’t already been said? The man’s a writing machine, a genius, master storyteller, the king of suspense, and so on. Personally I don’t know how the man does it, but he does it. His most recent release is yet another page turner that is filled with suspense, action and surprise. Now You See Her is Patterson’s seventh novel with co-author Michael Ledwidge and it does not fail to deliver.
Nina Bloom has a past that she would like to keep hidden. Bloom is a successful lawyer and single mother living in New York City. However she has a secret past that she is hiding from everyone and if anyone were to find out about it she could lose all she worked for. Nineteen years ago Nina met a handsome and well to do police officer and they lived a life of luxury in Key West. When Nina finds that her husband may not be who she thinks he is. Faced with a decision that could forever change her life she runs for her life, changes her identity and begins her new life. Nineteen years in the present Nina returns to Florida to work a case and her life is once again turned upside down as she faces her past once again jeopardizing all she has worked for and maybe even her own life.
Now You See Her is classis Patterson through and through. Not only is the story well told but it is also a gripping page turner. Written in Patterson’s traditional short chapters this made for a very quick and entertaining read. If you are looking for a good summer suspense novel then Now You See Her is for you.
