“Silly Little Thing Called Love” is the latest DVD release from our friends at Big Idea and just in time for Valentines Day. This is a collection of videos from previous released episodes (Duke and The Great Pie War, Madame Blueberry and The Story of Flibber-O-Loo). The stories all deal with love i.e. loving your neighbor, loving God and loving your family. Sadly (for me) there really isn’t much new to this collection of previously released episodes. If you own every single Veggie Tale video or DVD then you probably won’t be interested in “Silly Little Thing Called Love” simply because there really isn’t anything on this that you don’t have already. There are four “Silly Songs” included on this DVD which is even more unfortunate because there is nothing new just “Endangered Love”, “I Love My Lips”, “The Bunny Song” and “The Cheeseburger Song”. Overall, this is basically a “greatest hits of love” Veggie Tales episodes DVD.
If you are new to the Veggie Tales then I would highly recommend this DVD. This would also be a great resource if you want to teach your children about biblical love. If you, like me, are a die hard fan then we will have to wait for the release of the next Veggie Tales DVD which is scheduled to release in late February “Pistachio – The Little Boy Who Woodn’t” (I admit I have a copy of it and have watched it and you’re going to love it... but don’t tell anyone I said that). “Silly Little Thing Called Love” is a fun introduction to the Veggie gang for newcomers and is a great teaching aide to Biblical love. If you fit in one of those two categories then I would highly recommend you get this DVD.
