Sons of Anarchy Season 1

20th Century Fox

FX has aired some of television’s most gripping and shocking series. Kurt Sutter was the driving force behind “The Shield” and is now creator/writer of this series that follows the inner workings of an outlaw motorcycle club The Sons of Anarchy. Currently starting its second season on September 8th, the show is an intense drama that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The cast is an amazing collaboration of unknowns and awesome actors that comprise of Ron Pearlman, Katie Sagal, Charlie Hunnam and many more.

The Sons of Anarchy control a small town of Charming in Northern California and protects it from outside interference from drugs and expansion by large corporation chains. The police chief and most of the citizens of Charming are in the back pocket of SOA, but the Deputy Chief sees things a bit different than his boss. Jax (Charlie Hunnam), vice president of SOA, with the birth of his son, questions the direction of the club and begins a rift in the fabric. Ron Pearlman plays the head of SOA Clay Morrow and is married to Gemma (Katie Sagal) who is also Jax mother. Rivalry runs rampant as the Mayans, 9ers and Nords all battle for territory and control over various parts of Northern California.

The special features give more background info to the die-hard viewer and were fascinating all the way around. The making of along with the breakdown of the bike, tattoos and casting definitely add depth to the whole experience.
I was amazed by this series. With over 10 hours of content, I couldn’t wait to watch the next episode and ended up watching the entire thing in one sitting. I couldn’t get enough and wanted more. Each episode ties in with the next and also brings new elements of excitement and suspense. Even though this is an outlaw organization, I was involved in the survival of the club and rooting for them to figure out the problems that faced them. From the beginning of the pilot all the way to the “Holy Sh**!” season ending, there wasn’t a dull moment. The writing was brilliant as well as the soundtrack. Bravo to Kurt Sutter and all the cast and crew, this is TV’s best show ever!
