I have never thought that a devotional on Revelation would have ever surfaced. One doesn’t tend to equate this Apocalyptical vision of the Apostle John and morning or evening devotions together. However Sam Storms has attempted to do so and he has done a fantastic job. Storms has keyed in on the seven letters to the seven churches in chapters two and three and has created a wonderful 50 day devotional for any believer, regardless on your theological position concerning Revelation. Sam Storms digs deep into these letters and looks at the historical aspect of the letter yet also looks at how this letter can be applied to the Church today. Each chapter or devotion is only a few pages in length yet Storms packs these chapters with enough spiritual food to satisfy the reader for the day. The one thing I would liked to have seen though are some study questions or points to ponder to kind of summarize each devotion so they could be used for a small group discussion or just to help make the point stick. This is a minor criticism and certainly the book stands on its own without the questions or points.
Overall, TO THE ONE WHO CONQUERS is an extraordinary devotional that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great morning or evening devotional. The topics are designed to fit the needs of all believers no matter where they are in their walk. Whether you are a scholar who is looking for a meaningful devotion without the fluff or an everyday average Christian who seeks to go deeper into the Word of God, I would highly recommend you go out and get yourself a copy of TO THE ONE WHO CONQUERS.
