Lost in the Shadows

Given the fact that vampire awareness is at an all-time high (cool for fans, bad for actual vampires) it’s not surprising that there has been a rash of vampire related media lately. That said, stalwart metal label, Century Media, has scored big with the signing of Vampires Everywhere! if this two song “single” is any indication of what might be unleashed with their upcoming debut full length. The band is kind of like Rain in Hell era Aiden, early Avenged Sevenfold, and Deadsy all mixed up and sprinkled with a dash of melody to accentuate the punch.

The two songs here are really strong. They are very upbeat and rock and roll, tinged with just a little melody and a solid hook heavy chorus that gives you a break from the extreme long enough to remind you how heavy the heavy parts actually are. “Immortal Love” even utilizes a synthesized voice in the chorus that is far from groundbreaking but pretty dynamic compared to what a lot of bands are doing. “The Embrace” has a slightly more epic sound with some nice dueling guitars to kick it into high gear and a bounce during the verses that is slightly reminiscent of Dark Tranquility.

Lost in the Shadows is availably exclusively at Hot Topic stores nationwide now. If you are a fan of vampires, fantasy themed heavy music, or both then this is definitely worth checking out.
