Adam Sandler is a comedy genius and working from his character from Saturday Night Live, Cajun Boy, and one of his songs comes this wildly funny story of a mentally challenged man in his 30’s dedicated to his honed craft of water distribution. Adam Sandler is the star of this comedy and is joined by some very iconic entertainers such as “Happy Days” Henry Winkler, country singer Jerry Reed along with WWE wrestling’s Paul Wight, The Big Show, playing Captain Insano. This was the last acting that Jerry Reed did.

Sandler plays Bobby Boucher; a water boy for the LSU Tigers is not well received as an important part of the football program and is subsequently fired by coach Red Beaulieu (Reed). In his desperate attempt to continue his passion for water, Bobby offers his talents to the SCLSU Muddogs headed by Coach Klein (Winkler). When Bobby is faced with yet another set of ridiculing jocks, Coach Klein tell him to defend himself or he will never get respect. With all the rage that has plagued Bobby’s past comes a powerhouse of tackling might. Desperate to make his team a winning one, Klein tries to convince Bobby’s over protective mother (Kathy Bates) to let her son play football.  Without his mothers consent, Bobby plays behind his Mama’s back. Bobby is set into motion as a student/athlete and encounters the challenges of reality as his education is far different from what his homeschooling taught. With football being the main concern, Coach Klein will do anything to win against his rival Red and it all comes down to the last game of the year for these two teams.

There was a great balance in the audio quality for this comedy. The picture was a big difference from the original release which makes for an even more action packed performance on the college gridiron. The increased clarity of sound and visual aspects definitely draw you more into the feel of the game play.

This is one of my favorite comedies that Adam Sandler has come up with. I was laughing all over again as one of my favorite interactions occurs between Bobby and Colonel Sanders. There weren’t too many places in the movie where I wasn’t laughing. It’s a good mindless comedy that has you cheering for Bobby to win the game. The cast worked well together and that helped the integrity of the storyline.
