James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge have done it again with their latest Michael Bennett page turner titled “Worst Case”. It is rare that I read a book in less than a week but with Patterson’s and Ledwidge’s latest novel I sped through it in a day and a half ( collectively about four hours). This was due in part to it being a very easy read and mostly to the fact that the story is gripping and suspenseful.
Detective Michael Bennett is a highly trained and successful hostage negotiator and a single father to ten children. In his latest case a wealthy business man’s son is kidnapped and Bennett is called upon to work his magic. The only problem is this kidnapper is not like others because money is not the motive, it’s all about human responsibility and causes. The kidnapper quizzes the abductees’ about current affairs and wrong answers will get them killed. With this case the FBI is brought in and Bennett works with abduction specialist Agent Emily Parker. After more students are kidnapped Parker and Michael race against the clock to put these senseless killing and stop this maniacal killer.
“Worst Case” is a suspenseful page turner that will grab the reader from the opening pages all the way to its climactic conclusion. This is a book James Patterson fans will love. I have read numerous Patterson novels and this one is in my opinion one of his best to date. I hope Patterson and Ledwidge will continue in the future with more adventures of Michael Bennett. “Worst Case” is a great read and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great suspense thriller novels.
